Here is your daily collection of morning Ranger links:
- Now that 23-year-old defenseman Michael Sauer has re-signed, he is focused on making a big impact in his sophomore season with the Rangers in 2011-12. He says his rookie year was just about "getting his foot in the door", but now he wants to show what he is really made of. [Blueshirts United]
- The dates have been set for the remaining restricted free agents' arbitration hearings. That would include Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan and Brian Boyle. The hope is that each will re-sign before then, but they only have a couple of weeks to do so. [Blueshirt Banter]
- It appears that Brian Boyle may be the next RFA to be re-signed as it is being rumored that the Blueshirts are currently in deep conversation with the gritty center. Nothing is imminent, though. [Andrew Gross]
- I think it's pretty much set in stone that Ryan Callahan will be the club's next captain, but there is much debate over who his alternates should be... [Rangers Report (Carp)]
- The Rangers are one of the teams who've made a big splash in the NHL this summer in order to improve... [The Cheap Seats]
- With Brad Richards now in Ranger blue, the window of opportunity for the Blueshirts to bring home a Stanley Cup has notably increased... [New York Magazine]
- Sean Avery was recently voted the "Biggest Rat in the League" by fans. I don't know what their definition of rat is, but if this was a contest based on who looks most like a rat, I'm baffled as to why Danny Carcillo (formerly a Flyer, now a Blackhawk) was not number one with his teenage boy 'stache that only a mother could love. [Crash the Crease]
- And lastly, Richards leaves us with this tweet before he goes off to summer training...
Great week in NYC.... Busy but productive.... Time to go train and relax to prepare for a great season......
