Rumor: Redden to be Waived?

The Ottawa Sun has spread a rumor that is reaching many Blueshirt beat writers, basically saying that Glen Sather and the Rangers have been trying to deal defenseman Wade Redden to other team, but have come up empty. Due to this, the Rangers are looking into possibly waiving Redden at the beginning of next season. Here is the quote from the Ottawa Sun:

"There is talk the Rangers might waive D Wade Redden at the start of next season and send him to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack to get his $6.5-million salary off the books. New York has tried to deal Redden, but nobody is willing to bite. He still has $32.5 million and five years left on his contract."

In my opinion, I doubt that this would happen as it would be an embarrassment for both Sather and Dolan.Sather made a mistake with this guy, and now he has to undo the mess, but in another way than this. I mean, don't get me wrong, I would love for Dreaden to be waived, but I just don't see it happening.
