NHL Names Del Zotto Rookie of the Month

It is really a no-brainer that the 19-year-old defenseman for the Rangers has been elected for this award, as Del Zotto lead all rookies in scoring in the month of October, as well as all NHL defensemen at one point to begin the season. The 2008 first round pick registered 12 points in 14 games, and has already been excelling at the NHL level with absolutely no experience under his belt. That alone is extremely impressive, and then you add his consistency, his passing, and the complete all around blueliner he has been, and you have one heck of a player on your hands, and the good news is that he has not hit age twenty yet, so hopefully we will see MDZ quarterbacking the powerplay for many years to come.

Congrats to Del Zotto! It is well deserved!
