Both Steve Zipay and Andrew Gross have tweeted that Russian defenseman Alexei Semenov is in attendance at Rangers Training Camp. Semenov, 28, played in 47 games with the San Jose Sharks last season, and recorded a goal and seven assists in that span.
Being that McLaren did not work out, Semenov (6-6, 245 pounds) is most likely auditioning for the sixth defensive spot, or possibly the seventh.
