Dubinsky Lowers Demands

Larry Brooks of the New York Post has reported that un-signed restricted free agent Brandon Dubinsky has lowered his demands for a contract, and is obviously becoming desperate to sign with the Rangers and get into camp. Here is a portion of the Hockeybuzz story, concerning Brook's report:

"According to Brooks, while Overhardt would not provide specific information regarding the proposals, it is believed that Dubinsky is now seeking a one-year deal for approximately $1.1 million or a two-year deal for approximately $2.15 million.

Sather is believed holding fast to a one-year offer of $700,000 or a two-year offer of approximately $1.85 million."

Dubinsky is the first to make a move in this game of hard ball, and in my opinion, General Manager Glen Sather should just accept the price, have Dubinsky on this team, and move on.

There are no cap limitations preventing Sather from signing Dubi at $1.1 million, so in my eyes, there is no reason not to go through with it. Dubinsky is a key part to this team's future, and it is crucial that he spends time with John Tortorella in camp.

We will see if Sather budges, and if he will finally sign the young center.
